In partnership with FCCLA, the FACS classes successfully presented a fantastic event at the 2016 USD 495 Staff Christmas Party. Students helped to cater and decorate the space for another successful soire.
The Human Growth and Development class paired up with Mrs. Rainbolt's first grade class to make new friends...and snowmen! The snowmen were then used to help decorate for the USD 495 District Staff Christmas Party.
Students from the CTE classes got to experience firsthand an example of just one post-secondary opportunity available. Classes traveled to Hays to attend the Showcase day for North Central Kansas Technical College. Students got hands on experience in different major areas provided at NCK Tech. The students made omelets at Culinary Arts, made cream at Pharmacy Tech, built toolboxes at Carpentry, and made extension cords at Electrical, to name a few!
The Career and Life Planning class jumped out into the world of work today! The class participated in Mock Interviews with volunteers from our professional community serving as potential employers. We had volunteers from several different occupational arenas volunteer their time and expertise with the students, including healthcare, ag, banking, education, and human services. The students did a wonderful job, some even walking away with a (pretend) job!
Great job! Also, a big THANK YOU to our Interviewers: June Barger, Kendra Barker, Jeanette Johnson, Brenda Langdon, Troy Langdon, Sharon Lessard, Scott Morse, David Palkowitsh, and Chris Scheideman. |
